Just a mention for anyone who might be interested in miter spring clamps to pull together hardwood and plywood edge miters, picture frames, …
Tried a kit from one of the major woodworking mailorder/retailstore companies and was very dissatisfied – the smallest clips were too weak, the largest too large, all left big holes, and some weren’t sharp enough to catch the wood.
Then found a different design from www.collinstool.com. With their spreader tool, opens as much as 2″. Pretty good closing force, points are ground to fine point leaving smaller hole and good catching, … Worked extremely well with their spreader tool, which is almost a must. You can purchase directly from the manufacturer, or from any of several retail outlets and internet sites listed on their web site given above.
Good joints are a must, but I was pulling together plywood stands as large as 12″x14″x42″ with a spring clamp about every 6″. The best adhesive was two part epoxy or urea formaldehyde – with PVA, between quick tack and moisture expanding the 1/8″ plywood spline there wasn’t enough time to put the four sides together, clamp, check for square and twist and correct.

I'll second your recommendation of Collins (the same folks who make the Collins coping foot for jig saws) miter spring clamps.
I bought mine after seeing them recommended on Gary Katz's website and couldn't be happier with them.

Katz, a finish carpenter, has lots of great information on his website, including instructions to convert the factory blade guard for a Bosch 4000 table saw into a true riving knife.
