I have been requested to build an expandable round table. the client would like it to be round in the small size as well as in the large size. Has anyone know of hardware? How about plans?
Thanks

how round?
Sounds like the client needs to define what they mean by "round". Although you can add leaves that have rounded edges, the radius is going to be different than that of the un-expanded table.
Bob,
There have been some GREAT expanding round tables that have been designed and build by modern furniture makers. I mean absolutely ASTOUNDING.. I recommend that you view the following video. It has been showing up on Knots every once in a while for a long time. Every time I see it, I am amazed.

I am sure that your customer will be very happy if you build a replica of this table.

General Discussion
You might want to go to the old post: above which is about something I never knew existed. I had to google "Jupe" and then read and watch some of the entries to realize what they talking about. Of course when I mentioned the circular tables that expanded by pushing out parts of the table and adding leaves, my wife was quick to point out that it would end up being a scalloped edge, as you can't relocate an arc outwards and still have all the points on the edge the same distance from the center.
Still the tables are amazing, with an expanded circle with a scalloped edge or not.

round table
Several years ago I saw a round expandable table constructed by "Lee Grindinger" or "Lee Grindiger". I think it was here on KNOTS, but may be mistaken. Not for the faint of heart! I seem remember his price was $69K!!
I googled above names, got nowhere (probably my fault).
You might try and raise Forest Girl, she is familiar with Lee Grindinger.

I believe it was Lee Grindinger.. I see his http://www.furniturecarver.com/carving.html domain is for sale..
I saw that website for sale when I googled Lee Grindinger, thought I was displaying my very limited computer skills!
You also have a great day!
