I am considering upgrading my 14″ Delta bandsaw to a larger, more powerful unit. I have been looking at the 20″ Delta 28-640 bandsaw. Does anyone have experience with one? I can get a price comparable to an MM16 from Mini-Max. While that seems to be a good unit, the larger and heavier Delta seems hard to pass up.
I would appreciate feedback from anyone owning the Delta.
Thanks,

I don't own the Delta but do own the MM16. The MM has 2+ inches more of resaw height and almost double the horsepower. I love my MM and the service from minimax definitely beats anything I've had on my Delta machines (unisaw, Dj-20, etc). Check out the MM, you won't be disappointed.

I just went through the bandsaw upgrade decision. I have a delta 14" that I keep a 1/4" blade on, and would never get rid of it. I wanted to upgrade my LT16 though to something with more power and capacity. I looked at Delta, Laguna, Agazzani, Grizzly, Mini Max, Bridgewood, and some others. Yesterday I ordered the MM20 from Mini Max. In my opinion it was the best saw available in the size/price range I was looking at. I don't know if this is still true, but the last Delta 20" I saw in person was made in Taiwan, making it a cousin of the Sunhill/Grizzly/other taiwanese saws. Good luck with your decision!
