I am interested in getting your opinion on the best product to use for exterior stain on a porch ceiling. I am looking for a semi transparent stain/sealer. Benjamin Moore seems to have many color options but I have never used their stain. Any opinions/suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks!

Benjamin Moore makes a fine product. I prefer General Finishes.
The porch ceiling is a lot more protected from weather and sun than anything else outdoors. Any good product should do fine.
Olympic makes a good semi transparent stain. For a natural
exterior oil finish I like TWP. Rule of thumb for the best paint and expertise. Somewhere near you there's a paint store that at 7am has more professional painters lined up than at any other paint store. Go there ! Paint companies are constantly reformulating their products to meet ever changing voc requirements. So, the product you used last year may not be the same this year. I guess offering a lot of choices in colors is a good selling point if your a paint company but you only want one color and the color may be something on the chart and something else when you use it on your stuff. A good paint store can make up any color you want.
Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate your expertise.
