Got a copy at WIA, Bob Signed it for me, but if you have ever taken a basic drafting class and still have the textbook - you dont need this one. The additional bits on CAD are quite straight forward and are easily surpassed by the free info here on knots.
Buy it if you need to understand drawings. It is a good intro. But, if you have some knowledge of drawing, then it is too basic.

Thanks Mike, just the info I needed. That was about what I thought after looking at the index. I've had engineering drawing and cad classes. My SketchUp skills are about intermediate. My wife wants a cookbook, so to get Amazon free shipping I need to order myself a book. That cunning $25.00 price point for free shipping must help Amazon sell a lot of books. Maybe Roy Underhill's book - The Woodwright's Guide: Working Wood with Wedge and Edge. Thanks again,
Larry
Hi Larry,I think you'd be better served buying Roy's book. My intention was to bring people without any engineering or drafting experience up to speed and to get them started on the right foot with CAD and SketchUp. I think I succeeded, but if you're not in the target group, it might not do much for you.On a side note, I'll be teaching a SketchUp class at Marc Adams next June that will go deeper.Bob Lang

Thanks Bob,Your new book does fill a void for the target group you mention.I have your Craftsman Shop Drawing Books. The detailed joinery in your books is great and very helpful when working with SketchUp - "conceptual" drawings, are easy - adding the joinery is another story. So, my wife will get her Barefoot Contessa cookbook, and I'll be reading my first Roy Underhill book. Larry
Larry,
I also got the Roy Underhill book at WIA - Get this instead with your background.
A very good read!
