Feestool Dust Collection Question?
I believe I’ve read on this sight that Feestool products will only work with Feestool dust collection systems (their hoses, etc.). Is this true and if so is it possible to simply get a Feestool hose and adapt it to a regular vacuum system (2 1/2” or 4”)?

I've read that you can use the Festool hose with any shopvac - call a dealer to be certain. I have a Fein vacuum and I use the Fein hose with an inexpensive adapter Fein sells.

Not true.
When I first got set up with Festool, I used a PC hose that I had for their CS and biscuit joiner. It worked okay (without any adapters), but it is flimsy and tends to kink up.
So I got the Festool hose --- expensive (about $75 when I bought mine), but well worth it. The hose is better than 8', so you can easily rip a piece of ply lengthwise, without a problem. It is also well made, and won't kink.
I still use my Fein vac for everything, and the hose fitting that came with the Festool hose works just fine. It also fits my other vacs without an adaptor (Milwaukee, and ShopVac).

Do you know what size hose goes on a Domino and where it can be bought? I'm asking because I've read that the Domino should be used with a vacuum but I don't want to buy theirs when mine works just fine.
All the Festool products work with the same size hose fittings. I would guess you can find the size on their web site.EDIT: I do know that Festool also sells adapters for almost any other vac system. ********************************************************

I use a Festool hose with my TS55 and a Ridgid shop vac. Fits perfectly on the Ridgid vac and works well. I use the simple 11.5' Festool hose from Woodcraft for around $55.

Steve,
Lots of people use Festool tools without Festool dust collectors. However, I would suggest using a variable-speed model, to adjust for different tasks.

When it doesn't fit, I use duct tape.
I did buy the festool hose to that it fits on the TS 75 but I have about 15' of hose connected to a Dewalt vacuum.
