I just got the rotex sander, it has two modes. one is spinning and random orbital and the other just random orbital. (both with variable speed vibration) There paper system is great too, also not overly expensive and allows you to reuse all grits untill the are worn.
I am very impressed with the festool line. The dust collection is superb. I just ordered the deltex (small finish orbital for corners) and the large vac.
Back to the rotex though, it leaves a very smooth finish in the fine mode and in the agressive mode it has taken over by belt sander for the most part. It's really 2 tools in 1. Or 3 if you count polisher. However they also make two other random orbits that are lighter and cheaper than the rotex. The are the same except for the orbit travel, i think 2 or 3mm on one and 4 or 5 on the other.
The rotex is great and i think they have a 30 day money back deal if you are not happy.
Call them and ask questions, the guys there are really helpfull.

I've had the Fein sander for over three years now and love it. I also got the Fein vacuum to go with it. Now at $1300 for the set some might question it's value. Rest assured it one of the best sanders you'll ever use. The dust collection eliminates the need for a dust mask. They claim over 90% collection of dust with their vacuum which I had to doubt until I used it. No dust. I mean no dust at all. The pads have eight hole and well as a series of holes around the lip of the pad. The vacuum is strong enough to lift fair size pieces of wood right off the bench when connected to the vacuum. While the sander is running !. Now the only thing some don't like is no variable speed. The sander is quite aggressive. Actually really aggressive. It take a little getting use to. These sanders cannot be compared to the cheaper hobbyist sanders. They also now sell a variable speed 8" as well if your wallet is real fat. Sorry can't comment on the Festo because I've never even laid eyes on one but I like the sound of being able to adjust the orbital pattern. Not available on the Fein.
Hate to throw another option in here, but after trying out many 6"ROS including the 2 you mention, I bought the Metabo 6". I use it with my Fein vacumn for absolutely no dust (it also comes with a paper disposable bag and a cloth bag is available).
It is unique in that is has 2 orbits to choose from 1/8" for very fine finish, and 1/4" for aggressive hogging. This along with the variable speed provides a full range of controls.
The sander is the motor over pad configuration and has a controlled swirl when not on the wood.
