Felder : Does that come with a free jar of vaseline ? : or, Why not to buy a Felder.
A bit over ten years ago I bought a felder CF-731 combination machine. Up until then I always had Mini-Max, but it looked like a good machine and they claimed exceptional service. …. But as the Italian saying goes “Between saying and doing there is a gap as wide as the sea”
On April 5 the machine broke. Easter in the middle ; the service guy came out on the 10th of april. He found the Inverter and the filter to change and told me Felder would send me an Estimate.
Nothing arrived. 8 phone calls (including 2 to Felder headquarters in Hall in Tirol) and 15 days later an estimate arrived. In the mean time I had gotten tired of running around after the Felder service department so I bought the parts directly from the producer of the eletronic parts KEB GmbH Germany.
First on the estimate $211.20(plus tax) forfait Travel espense for the tech. I live 7.5 miles from the Felder Italia branch in Agrate Brianza Italy. $211.20, to me ,seems a bit stiff to travel 7.5 miles… but hey… I could be wrong maybe Austrians make $845.00 an hour.
Second I bought the inverter for $726. Felder put it on the estimate to me at $1198.56 plus installation, same part Keb GmbH.
I’m still waiting to hear when Felder can come install the parts but since my hopes are low I will now comtact KEB Italia who have already told me that they can put me in contact with someone that can do the job for me.
Now I could go on but I’m sure you get the point. But might I point out that for a professional shop that is only 234 miles from the factory to loose a month of work because of absimal service is totaly inexcusable.
Basiano Italy in case you want to check those distances. Any and all of these facts are documented by faxes, e.mail and phone records.

Felder troubles
I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I pwn a MiniMax combo unit - but I can't compare "service delays" with Felder because I haven't had any troubles.
But, of course you know that.
Frosty
At least yours worked....
Mine arrived broken..3 months and threatening legal action finally got them fix it....they are not any better in Mexico.
