I have a makita model 2708 and the problem is i cant rip anything over about 11 inches does anyone sale a aftermarket fence or is the saw just to small.

Doug: Makita made a portable for that saw, so you can rip up to 24inches. that saw has been discontinued for about 6 years now, so finding a portable may be hard to find, Roussoe made the portables for makita , maybe you can still get one from them, or check on E-Bay to see if someone is selling one. Rousseau makes lots of gizmos to expand portable tools. If you have a Tool Crib catalog around, take a look there. If not, here's the Amazon page.
