I just got a mini-max usa 20m bandsaw. I love the bandsaw, but the fence that comes with it, I don’t quit understand. this is the first fence that I have used that doesn’t have any real adjustment options. Does anybody have a mini-max that has changed the fence to make it more accurate?

Brandon,
I have a MM 20" as well. My fence has a bolt that allows me to adjust for blade drift that is located near the handle on the top side of the fence.
My saw is about 3 years old and I am not sure if the new saws have a different set up.

The fence is still the same. I adjusted the bolt and even put a piece of sandpaper between the to metal parts. But if you push on the end of the fence, the fence moves around easily. Also how do you adjust for 90 degrees vertically?
I think that you may have a little play between the rail and the guide. Or is the play at the bolt where the rail guide and fence are attached? You may need to play with the handle tension. Granted, the saw is quite nice but the fence is really a joke. It works, but could certainly be better. As far as getting it square to the table. I keep a small square next to the saw and use that before tightening down the fence. I suppose you could shim the thing, but I have not really found the need.Or if you want, just make your own fence out of plywood or MDF and go from there.Although the fence on my saw takes a little to get set. It performs adequately for what I ask.J.P.J.P.
thanks for sharing your advise.
Dear Brandon,
You may want to check out the MM owner's forum: http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/MiniMax-USA/
Best,

Morning Brandon.. If I could ask a favor. Could you look at your motor on your MM 20 and see if it is the 4.8 HP used on the MM 16. I would like to know who the manufacturer is and what amps it rates as pulling off the vin tag.
I'm making some comparisons to the MM 16 and LT 16 HD and I forgot to ask who made the motor on the MM when I had Erik on the line the other day.
Thanks...
SARGE..
The motor is the same 4.8 horsepower. single phase, 220 volt, 20 amp. the draw of power that comes from the motor is more then my cabinet saw. You definitely want a 220/30 breaker.
I got an e-mail from D. Brown with the motor make (SOGA) and some ratings. I was making a comparison to it and a Baldor 4.5 HP. Again thanks to both you and Donald B for the assist...
SARGE..
