Festo equivalent to the Fein Multimaster
I would like info on whether or not Festo has an equivalent tool to the Fein Multimaster (without contacting the respective companies.)
Reason for asking is I am interested in several Festo tools and the vac and need the functionality of the Multimaster.
I thought it would be better to ask an owner instead of reading the specs, which doesn’t help much in comparisons.
Thanks for any feedback.

Festo, or Festool as it now calls itself, has a detail sander with a triangular pad similar to the Fein MultiMaster. Unlike the Fein, Festool's Deltex DX 93 E does not have the sawing or scraping capabilities. I believe the reason for this is that the MultiMaster oscillates whereas the Deltex uses an orbital motion.
If your main focus is dust-free sanding, I think the better bet is Festool. The dust collection is built in, as opposed to the MultiMaster which is an additional accessory. Furthermore, the dust collection enlarges the profile and makes the MultiMaster harder to grip. Also, the dust collection is not much useful when sawing or scraping. But if you want versatility, then the MultiMaster is probably for you. The number of accessories is staggering, and while not all functions perform to the same efficiency, it is generally the one I use (or at least consider) when all else has failed.
The price of the two machines is about the same if you add on the dust collection to the MultiMaster.
Wow, your very thorough reply is much appreciated.
In particular thanks for explaining the differences in the head action.
Dust collection is important to me but I do need the cutting capabilities of the Multimaster.
Ideally it would be nice to have....BOTH !
Thanks for the information.
