Hello,
I’m looking for feedback on the FESTOOL line of equipment from first hand users. I’m looking at investing in a number of their machines and so want to make a good investment. Any feedback is welcome.
Many Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mike,
I was in a magazine shop yesterday and picked up a 2005 Tool Guide that had an 7-8 page review of the Festool line. It wasn't a Taunton magazine (my favourite home/woodworking publisher). I'm at work right now, and I can't remember the name of the magazine (it looked like a special edition). I'm also looking at the Festool line as a possible investment. The magazine raved about them. I'll be anxious to read the posts here.
Here's a link to a discussion on jig saw's. I'm looking at the festool for that but don't want to spend the extra $$ for the other tools, its beyond what I need tools for. The person that posted in this thread is from Austria (I think) and knows a lot of about the festool line. Read through that thread, it has good info on the festool line and maybe drop Christian a message, he seems to know the most out of the posts I've seen.

Take a look at this web site.

He's done some very pratical reviews of the entire Festool line. The Girls are cute too.
My friend has the sander and router. Very impresive machines. His father has recently gotten into woodworking and has almost the complete line. He loves them.
Enjoy.
I have the AT55 circular saw and guide rail. I love it. The saw cuts with little, if any, chip out and the dust collection picks up, in my estimation, about 95% of the dust. They are quality tools.
You can go to the Festool user's group at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FestoolOwnersGroup/ and ask more questions. They are all great to deal with.

Hi Mike
I've owned a couple of Festool 6in ROSs which have done sterling work in a trade shop for quite a few years now. I'd heartily recommend them - pricey, true, but they just can't be killed and they have the best dust extraction of any of the ROSs I've used (including the Bosch and Metabo). I've got a Holz-Her laminate trimmer too (now made and sold by Festool) and I'd recommend that, too, as well designed and made. Got my eye on a Festool jigsaw next to replace my aging Metabo - if I can afford it!

I have a Festool CDD 9.6 rechargeable drill which I have used professionally for 10 years - it just stopped the other day and I miss it so much that I have just bought a new one! Will get the old one repaired and then keep one in my workshop and the old one in the car. These drills are compact, well balanced and certainly as powerful as I need and with an accurate torque setting ring very useful for screwdriving all sizes of screw.
Also have a Festo jigsaw, simply the best jigsaw I have ever used.
Thes tools aren't the cheapest but get one or two,use them and you'll agree with me!
