Does anyone use the Festool OF 1400 with a Leigh FMT jig? The Leigh users guide does not reference any way to attach the OF 1400 to the sliding plate. The only way I can see would put the router in a front to back orientation which would be very awkward to use. Am I missing something?

Bioman,
It's definitely possible. The Festool OF1400 is the router Leigh uses in one of their demo videos!
I've heard from several people who have used the OF 1400 and its predecessor (the OF 1010) with the Leigh. They don't post on Knots, but I can give you a way to contact them.

That would be great Matt. I tearing my hair out trying to figure it out.
I use the 1400 with The Leigh FMT jig and have had great success with it. As I remember, it mounted easily without any fanfare. If you have a problem, call Leigh. Their customer service is first rate.

Bioman,
Have you figured it out?
Funny you should mention that. I just bought that festool router and am thinking the same thing when trying to mount it on the FMT. It seems it can only go on in a very awkward position. I have not seen the Leigh video and can find no reference (pic wise) on their web site.
Perhaps someone can post a pic of how it should be attached.
Cheers,
Peter
I strongly encourage you to give the Leigh people a call. When I got their dovetail jig, I had some issues, and called the 800 number. The guy I spoke to was extraordinary -- patient, experienced, and very knowlegable.********************************************************

Thanks guys I did, turned out it was an older base that did not have the holes for mounting a 1400. They are fixing this at no charge. Great company to deal with.
There appear to be (at least) two versions of the Leigh FMT manual. The online, pdf, version of the manual doesn't seem to mention the Festool 1400. My printed manual does mention the Festool 1400 and provides directions for mounting it. For instance, on page 7 of my manual there is a chart that lists the Festool 1400 (right above the Festool 2000). The pdf version of the manual doesn't have an entry there for the Festool 1400.
I am using the Festool 1400 router on the FMT with no trouble.
You should probably contact Leigh and get a new manual to be sure that you have all the updated information about mounting the router.
