Festool jigsaw blade guide adjustment?
When adjusting the blade guides on the Festool trion jigsaw, I have noticed that the right guide (looking at the front of the saw) almost seems fixed, while the left guide is the one that actually moves. There is always a larger gap between the blade and the left guide versus the blade and the right guide. In fact, in order to get the left guide close enough, the right guide becomes too close to the blade. I can get the guides adjusted fairly close but the blade would have to be slightly off square with the both guides set close enough. Is this just affecting my saw or is this normal?

I have one of these jigsaws and the instructions leave a little to be desired. The bolt that holds the guide assembly to the body of the saw runs in a slotted hole. Loosen that bolt and you can centralize guide after you have adjusted the gap between the ceramic runners. Then it works well.
Bit fiddly isn't it.
PS take care to adjust in the mode you will use i.e. if using the pendulum action then turn it on before you adjust otherwise the blade could seize.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. If Festool's didn't cost so much, I would have look into buying the new Rotex sander and circular saw with guide rail. Definitely some nice tools.
Don't worry it works, but do let me know please. I am going to E mail festo UK to suggest they let me try their products before releasing them without adequate instructions!
Thanks for the reply. Well I have sent a sensible note to Festo and will keep you informed. Just for the record I have jigsaw, RO150 sander, Duplex LS130 EQ-Plus sander, OF 900E Router and saw 55EB plus rails.
