I need to install some fiberglass molding (1″ wide, 3/8″ thick), and I would like to glue it, but I also want to nail it. I have a nail gun, and a staple gun, but both will crack the molding when I test it on a scrap piece. Anyone got some ideas that can help me?

Is there any particular reason you want to nail it? Resin adhesive would hold it sufficiently I would imagine, providing all your surfaces are clean.

Yes, there is!
The fiberglass molding gets the afternoon sun, and no glue has been able to hold. Been there, done that! It requires a nail here and there to keep it place.

If you cain't glue it and your only option is to nail I would suggest you drill the fibreglass and use a small flathead. Pins would probably pull through.

You've got me curious; I've never seen fiberglass moulding. It's actual fiberglass, laid up from glass matt and all like that?
Is the intention to be maintenence free?
PS, I'd drill, countersink and use stainless steel trim screws. They're available with colored heads.
