I have some highly figured maple that I am going to use as fronts for a set of speakers I am building. Any input on what is best clear finish to bring out the figure the best and give good durability? I want to maintain the truest wood color as possible. Seems that polyurethane tends to give yellow tint to finish. Thanks in Advance.

Bry,
Blond shellac should maintain the color but may not be a durable as you want it. I've never used waterbase poly but I believe I read somewhere that it doesn't yellow. You may want to look into it.
I have found that for figured woods, penetrating oils work great. I use Minwax Tung Oil Varnish with fabulous results in curly maple (western). Then you can topcoat with poly or whatever for added protection.
