I remember seeing a file cabinet in one of the issues of fine woodworking. The file cabinet had curved legs and otherwise looked like a craftsman piece. It was in the section of fine woodworking where they showed examples of woodworking furniture. The top of the file cabinet would flip open and allow you to insert and remove your files. If memory serves me correctly it could have been in issue 141 but I am not sure. Can someone tell me the issue number where this file cabinet can be found and what page it is on. Thanks, Brent Kjernisted

Your memory is correct. The file cabinet is in issue #141 (pictures attached, I hope). The description provided in the issue was as follows:
"Staples' client wanted a file cabinet that didn't look like one--something that wouldn't attract the attention of a nosy babysitter or an intruder. Placing a lamp or books on top disguised the fact that the mahogany and walnut cabinet (35-3/8 in. wide by 30 in. high by 22-3 /8 in. deep) has a lift-up top. All panels are bookmatched, including the single, glued-up drawer front made to look like two drawers (it's divided by a 1/8-in. saw kerf)."
I hope this helps.

Chuck- Thankyou for certifying my guess. As well thankyou for the description and the pictures. This is one of the most elegant pieces of furniture I have seen. In the future I may order the back issues on disc. Hopefully this piece will be on there as well but since you have provided me with the description and pictures this is not really necssary. Finehomebuilding has a house called the undesigned house in issue 123 of their HOUSES series. It is a simple but beautiful house. There are other exceptional houses in that issue.
