I’m looking for some some 3″x3″ stock for Pencil post bed in cherry and in walnut.
Needs to be atleast 82″ length. Two Problems: First find the source…Second arrange the transportation. Anyone have some ideas. Thanks much. I live in Southwest Iowa.

If you can't find stock, Matthew Burak will sell you completed cherry pencil bedposts at a very reasonable price.

Graunwagon,
A lot of Black walnut grows in Northeast Iowa.. (and southeast Minnesota ) You shouldn't have to pay a premium for it. I'd start calling sawmills on the eastern side of your state
Have you ever used this site? http://www.woodfinder.com/
Try http://www.thinwood.com. They are in Iowa. You'll probably have to e-mail or call Josh to find out what he has in stock.
Another option is to glue 4/4 material. It may be more cost effective and easier to obtain. It is also more likely to be straighter.
