I’m a relatively recent graduate of North Bennet St. School, and wondering how one goes about starting a custom furniture business. I don’t have the funds to equip a shop on my own or the collateral needed to get a small business loan, nor do I know any vastly wealthy individuals looking for an investment opportunity. Therefore, I assume my best bet is to find a cooperative type shop and/or rent space from an existing shop. How do I go about finding one? In addition, how does one go about picking an area of the country where there is a healthy market for custom made furniture? Any suggestions/help are greatly appreciated.

I' don't have any contacts for you but you might want to start with Architects and even realtors to find out who is who...
