Finding a screw for attaching bearings to a Whiteside router bit
I have the lost the small button cap machine screw that attaches the bearings to my Whiteside router bit (item # 1955).
Unfortunately, the toll-free number on the Whiteside website doesn’t work; and repeated emails draw no response.
Visits to hardware stores that have every screw imaginable, have not been successful.
Is it possible that Whiteside has been shut down because of Covid; or has gone out-of-business?

Eagle-America sells a router bit repair kit and might have screws for this.

As it turns out I was able to get through to Whiteside who will be sending the proper screw. Thanks for your quick response. Incidentally,“Stan the Man” Musial was my favorite ball player.

Check the repair sets he suggested.
Do you have a other bit you can borrow a screw from?
Fortunately, I was finally able to get through to Whiteside and they are sending the proper screw. Thanks for responding.

Not to focus on the negative here, but I was planning to buy some Whiteside bits. Is this typical of the support from Whiteside, or, as is asked above, is Whiteside a victim of Covid ??
They are the best out there. Their customer service is excellent. They have even modified some of their bits for me at a nominal cost.
You would be hard pressed to do better.
Great to hear, Thanks !

Not to worry about their customer support. Their 800 number doesn’t work and they did not respond on-line. BUT, the ‘local’ phone number they gave did and their rep was friendly and very efficient. Plus, I have used their router bits for years and they are excellent!

Follow up. Talk to customer service and they told me ice storms in North Carolina shut down their on-line service.

The same bearing and screw will fit any of my router bits and I have at least four different brands. Are Whiteside different ?
Fortunately, I was able to get through and the proper screw is on the way. Thanks for responding.

I recall seeing a TV program (maybe on HGTV or DIY) where they said that there are only a couple of different factories in the US that make router bits, just use different paint for different brands. I think someone else said that Eagle-America was made by same folks as Whiteside.
