It seems like my customers always want to match the cheap hardware that come on thier big box pieces with equally cheap (and hard to find) hardware for thier custom pieces. Anyone know where i can find these:
I’ve been perusing the internet all morning and have looked through the typical commercial hardware suppliers. If i could find out the name of the style i could narrow it down but i cant even get that.
ed: I’m refering to the knobs and backplates of course.

Sometimes you can get the stuff from the vendors. Your customer owns, say, a Sauder cabinet. He can almost certainly contact Sauder with the model number and order replacement parts, which you can then use on the new pieces.
I'm getting ready to make an engineer's chest out of maple and ancient kauri for my Dad. I'm going to use Gerstner hardware for this custom box -- they sell the pins and hinges and catches etc. Not exactly your situation, but the principle's the same.
Hope this helps!
Thats a good idea. I had actually done that with trying to match the finish (Found out they discontinued that color :( ), ut didn't make the same connection with the hardware...duh.ED:I don't know why but this discussiion was changed by someone to READ ONLY!? I certainly have more to say on the subject. I found out that the company name for the funriture manufacturer is brooks, but try as i might i can't find an official website online anywhere. I'll try calling my local distibutor tomorrow but it makes me mad when i can't have the quick and dirty solution...

I remember seeing those in a store once. I can't recall what store it was though, I was only 5 back in 1975.
