Hello
For years I had a massive cast iron 14″ table saw which I got for nearly free and I am in love with. It’s a Wadkin Bursgreen AGS 14. I wouldn’t trade it for a SawStop or a slider, that’s how much I like it.
One thing it doesn’t have is a dado set. I imagine one day I might find the blades to fit the 1″ arbour, but the problem is – the arbour is not long enough to accomodate more than one blade.
I know looking at catalogs that they made arbours for this saw long enough to take a dado set. But I can’t find a supplier.
I sent a couple of messages to wadkin.com but didn’t get a response.
Is there another place to look?
Thanks in advance.

Years ago there was a company in NC that provided support and parts but I think they were moulder oriented. I think they are probable gone, but you could post on Woodweb to see, I don't remember their name.
I would take the arbor to a quality machine shop and have them make a modified version to your specs. It will probably cost no more than a factory part, if not less.
How would I go about finding a machine shop?

By the way, they may be able to modify the existing arbor to accommodate the dado set.
Machine tool tech has come a long way.
For what making a new arbor would cost, you could buy an old tablesaw and just leave the dado set in it full time.
The best place to ask about old iron is at Old Woodworking Machines. There's a ton of knowledge over there.

That's sort of what I have now. I still have my original contractor table saw which I have a dado set permanently mounted in. I keep it in the crawl space because I don't have room for two table saws in the shop.
But it's a pain in the neck getting it out and set up, so I'm guessing I often avoid using it just because of that. Also it's a contractor saw with a small table and a flimsy fence. I kind of hate it. I mostly kept it in case I need a portable table saw one day.
I wonder though if I could get lucky finding another 14 AGS which is cheap because it's unusable. I sometimes see 600V versions which almost noone can provide power to.
I should ask at OWWM. I thought I already did but I don't see any record of it.
