I recently upgraded my subscription to Fine Woodworking Unlimited. I am wondering why I am not able to open older issues of the magazine prior to when I first subscribed to the print edition, or open any of the special issues other than those that I had previously paid to access. It seems to me that I should be able to access those through the mobile app.

Responding here to get notifications on the thread. I have the same question...
I was also looking to ask this question. Noticed last week.
Do any of the editors have an answer to this question?
I apologize, I thought I replied to this thread.
The iOS app is a mirror of a print subscription, so if you subscribed three issues ago, you’ll only have those issues available to you. Same as if you got them in the mail.
If you’re an Unlimited member, you have access to the entire archive via the digital library… https://archives.finewoodworking.com/
Hi Ben!
Oh - Is that something you guys are looking at fixing?
I am an unlimited member and have also found that I can only go back so far into the digital library before the 'See digital issue' links disappear. Why is that?
Thanks for your help.
Martyn
I don't think we're looking at fixing it since that app isn't designed to work that way. Don't get me wrong, it is certainly something that would be really nice. But since we don't create the app, the logistics would be daunting at best.
As for the "See digital issues" question. After page 3 or 4 you see them go away because that's when we started uploading the magazine digitally. The only way to get to the full archive online is through the digital library.
Hi Ben,
haha - I thought I was looking at the digital library (sorry, new member!) - I have found all the content and special issues now. Great stuff.
Understood about the app. Shame but understood.
Keep up the great podcasting by the way - it certainly is what led to my membership.
