Hi, I try to contact FWW Guys with no succes.
Here is my Problem:
Due to Security/Law settings I cannot reach the pages with the plans. Europe has change all the conditions (Cookies, personal Informations, etc to secure the internet browsing, and you did not upgrade – because you dont need it)
BUT thats make of course that I cannot use all my advantages as a Member.
Every Time I chose to buy a plan , Revised Adirondack Chair, There came a text saying that due to my server location I cant buy the plans. etc, etc…
So what to do? Well I ask a friend to register online, 14 Free try, and to buy the plans for me. My Friend does NOTHING with or in Wood. He made this just for me, but Surprise the plans was all out of Stock. So He took a paying Membership by month, just long enough to get the plans.
Ha ! The Plans still out of Stock. Meanwhile I own him 4 Month of Membership, wothout getting notting!
Now the best. I found those Plans, FOR FREE, on Tom McLaughlin Website.
Guys, you could have mention it in your magazin. Or on your Plan Page.
Greetings from Luxembourg,
Heart of Europe, and smallest real Country from the World.

Henri,
Sorry you've had difficulties. There are a few reasons, that I can't really get into why that plan was down from the store. The error message should have stated that you can buy things from the store by calling the store. Not ideal, I know, but that's what we have in place right now.
If you have an unlimited membership, of course the article plans are available to you and your friend (https://www.finewoodworking.com/2018/11/28/w273-modern-adirondack-chair). But if you were wanting the printed plans, those aren't included in the membership.
The other curious thing is that the plans are not FREE on Tom's site. They are a very reasonable $27 plus shipping here: https://www.epicwoodworking.com/plans/
Hi, I found the plans , as pdf download. Fine Woodworking projects.

What can a plan be more?
There is everything one need. the designs of the curved Boards, on "Squares" so I can draw them myself.
I didnt pay anything. Download was free.
I will build this chair (if easy enough) in Summer, For sure one, but I hope (depending on my skills) that I will make 4-6 for my Back Yard.
Maybe I will buy the Video lesson from Tom about making this chair.
Hi,
I too, being in the UK, am unable to directly access and buy plans due to this restriction. I really don't understand why it hasn't been sorted out by now. Presumably it is related to the European Data Protection rules, but Fine Woodworking has my membership data already so am not sure why it precludes buying plans.
Fortunately, I work for an organisation where I can can connect via a VPN to offices around the world so I then appear, from my IP address to be in Europe, the USA, Far-east etc., which gets me around that issue.
Ben - Hi from France.
Your advice to contact the store (The error message should have stated that you can buy things from the store by calling the store. Not ideal, I know, but that's what we have in place right now.) has one major drawback - you do not give the number for the store and I cannot find it on your website. The plans I want are for John Tetreault's Hybrid Roubo Workbench and I was hoping to buy pdf and/or full size plans and would be more than happy to pay for them. When viewing the video workshop webpage it has links to purchase DVD and Plans. When I select either of these it results in:
Unfortunately we are unable to fulfill your request at this time. Due to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) requirements we are unable to support our European Union market through our online store. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause and we would be happy to assist you with your print subscription or product purchases as needed. Please contact Customer Service at 515-247-2990. Thank you.
I called customer services on 515-247-2990 but the lady was unable to help and said she could not assist in ordering plans; she was adamant that her duties are confined to publications alone. She is of the opinion that all plans are in pdf format and only available online from the store and that there is no contact number for them. She was unable to provide any alternate numbers that I could contact to see if anyone else could help. I switched my VPN to USA to see if that might allow me to get any further but to no avail.
Whilst this anomaly on communications between USA and Europe continues, perhaps you would find an alternative method, a work around, that we could use for the interim. In the meantime, could we have the number for the store and for myself, your help please on how to get a copy of the plans for John Tetreault's Hybrid Roubo.
Regards - Peter
That's a bummer about our European friends not being able to buy these things as we do here in the States. I hope it gets resolved. I don't understand why they would want to protect your data while you have already given them your data - something is amiss in the logic there.
On the bright side, once you do get the plans (I've bought several paper plans from Taunton), they are very high quality and I highly recommend them.
BenStrano - Hi.
Thank you for your previous help to get me a pdf of JTs hybrid roubo. I am most grateful. I have not given your Customer Services number another go at placing an order; the previous attempt proved difficult to remain courteous to an employee who - on the face of it - really did not want to help. The issue of GDPR looks likely to have no imminent resolution (to simple folks in Europe like ourselves) so what about providing a contact number that we can use to place orders whilst paying with paypal or credit cards. You have no problem direct debiting my credit card for membership fees - surely I can buy plans, books and whatever by contacting you by email or telephone? Your (FWW) email of Monday November 4 containing HOLIDAY SPECIAL (30% of EVERYTHING until January 8 2020) won't even open because GDPR blocks it. Can we in Europe have an order-line telephone number? Please!
Regards - Peter
