Did I miss an announcement of something new or did I not get it straight when the new format was installed? I just clicked on the Finewoodworkingnetwork.com site and could access a lot of stuff I thought we had to join and pay for. Is this an introductory offer ? I knew there were some format changes in the mill but hadn’t seen any announcement that they were in place.

We made an announcement about this in the forums a few weeks back but understandably it probably went over looked.
Last month we decided to make the Tool Guide and The Gallery free to view. We realized that both of these features were really community oriented: the Gallery is full of images submitted by readers, and the Tool Guide has a feature that allows users to post ratings and reviews. Both of those things were going to be hard to accomplish behind a pay wall. They will remain open and we encourage forum members to participate.
Since the beginning we've also been publishing news articles that are free to view and we continue to do that. Finally, we've also launched our first blog, which is free to view and plan on introducing more over the next few months.
Of course there are still more than 1100 articles, 150 videos, and lots more available to subscribers of the site.
