A friend of mine just bought a Lindel cedar home. He wants to apply the best finish material he can on the outside as well as to the deck, which is also cedar. He does not want to add color, but I understand that tinted finished provided much better UV protection.
The inside is also cedar, but appears to be unfinished.
What is the best material for the outdoor and indoor applications? I’m thinking that a boiled linseed oil product would be good for the outdoor applications.
Thanks,
Mike K

I just used Penefin on an Ipe porch. Looks fantastic, goes down easy. Unfortunately I can't vouch for durbility being a recent application.
You might want your friend to contact the folks at Sutherland Welles also. I understand their exterior polimerized tung oil is exceptional. My Dad use dit on an outdoor project a few years ago with stellar results
