Built a two person bench using mahogany. It will hang from chains on a boat dock in
southern Missouri. I would like to apply a non film forming finish, and am bewildered by the number of products available. I’ve read about them until I’m crosseyed. Could someone with experience using a particular product make a recommendation, please.
I am looking for something that can be reapplied at yearly intervals after a gentle cleaning. Thank you.

I have had success on a sailboat's mahogany woodwork with Teak Oil from Star Brite:

What about something like Thompson's? They make umpteen varieties of outdoor wood finish that you can rub on as needed. You can get plain or various wood colors.
My favorite outdoor furniture finish is a mix of products:
1 part boiled linseed oil
1 part naphtha
1 part spar varnish (your choice as to brand)
Easy to apply, just wipe on as many coats as you want. Easy to refinish, just sand lightly and reapply the mixture.
