I have an entry with double doors. They are made by maple and have left unfinished for almost a year(the doors already hung ) because I ‘ve been busy . Plan to stain and top fisnish this weekend holidays. What step should I do since the doors left unfinished for too long? What kind of stain and top coat is good , the outside faces will be direct sunlight for half of the day? Thanks .

Might as well sand them with a random orbit sander. Use Penofin for the finish - you can buy it tinted or tint it yourself according to the instructions on the can.
