Good Evening All,
I am a real newbie and have just completed a piece using cherry. It is now time for staining and finishing.
I have been recommended to use the products of a company called Hood Finishing and Hydrocote. My question is: Has anyone used their products? What do you think of the quality? Has they been good to deal with?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You seem to be saying that you are obligated to stain cherry. Why? Cherry will darken with time so let it do its thing. You don't say what you built so it is hard to comment on a finish. I am not familiar with the finish you mention.

the manufacturer of the products is less important than what the look is you are trying to achieve. Reduce splotchiness versus enhancing figure? Change color or even it up? Here is good reference site for info on finishing cherry http://www.furniturefinishwizard.com/cherry.htm
