I am building kitchen cabinets with western red cedar faces and doors. I would like to use tung oil finish for the luster but do not want to use 16 coats like a chest did. Will a wood sealer under the tung oil, with or without linseed oil, cut down on the number of coats of tung oil and still give a nice luster?
