I’m reproducing a Krenov showcase cabinet using German cherry veneer. Krenov recommends oiling the outside when using cherry, but advises against oiling the inside because of the smell created inside the cabinet. He would probably use shellac inside, but shellac doesn’t bring out the color. Can someone suggest how to finish the inside so that I can bring out the color?

use shellac and place the cabinet in a room with a lot of light--the sun will bring out the color.
*Thanks for the suggestions. I have two more questions: does anyone know of a website where one could order orange shellac flakes? Also I'm wondering about the back of my cabinet. It's a frame and panel made out of Spanish cedar. I'm pretty sure I don't want to put any finish on it or the aroma will be lost. But is there something I should do besides sanding to 220 grit?
*You could consider button lac or garnet lac, which are less refined grades of shellac. Just as good as orange or super-blonde, just more color. I would have to defer to the Master as to how to finish the cabinet though.
