I am putting down some 5/4 T&G Camabara flooring on the front porch of my 1916 Bugalow. The porch is covered but not enclosed and gets a fair amount of sun, rain and snow being that we are just outside Chicago. Also the porch sits over a portion of the basement.
I am looking for thoughts on finishing. I was thinking of using a Sutherland & Welles tung oil product. I do not want a high gloss nor slick surface and like the apparent ease of reaplying the S&W products for touvh up and repair.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You might want to look into a product called Pennofin. It's base is boiled linseed oil, and it is specifically formulated for exterior applications (like decks and porches.)
Note that either the tung oil, or BLO-based finishes will probably need to be re-applied every year.
And I agree that spar varnish will leave a slippery surface when the snow flies. (Perhaps that's why so many porches are painted)
Hey, here's a thought -- check into some of the anti-slip additives that are available at the home center in the paint department. If you add them to spar varnish, and it doesn't make it look too bad, then you have an answer. Spar is durable, flexible, and good looking. If you can also make it anti slip, then you might have something.
Sounds good to me as long as you keep on reaplying say every year or so.
The Sutherland and Wells sound like a quality product, is it?
On something like this I wouldn't scimp on the finish.
