I’m looking to take a class on finishing. I’ve struggled long enough! Can someone recommend a school or class in the Rhode Island area (Massachusetts and Connecticut are ok too)?
My work is mainly cabinetry, with some furniture mixed in. I struggle primarily with coloring (staining), but really could use some help in all areas of the finishing process.
Thanks!

Sorry, no Rhode Islanders have chimed in. Providence (really East Greenwich) Woodcraft offers a finishing 101 that looks very basic, and has no mention of the instructor (it's only a $30 tariff.) . Roland Johnson offers a 5 day finishing course at the Manchester CT Woodcraft that would be very much more intensive, as it should covering 40 hours with a $695 tuition.. I don't agree with him on one of his finishes, but no doubt he would have a lot to offer. Peter Gedrys is also listed as an instructor at the Manchester Woodcraft. An opportunity to take classes from him, when scheduled, would be something not to miss.
Peter Gedrys saw my post and actually reached out to me. We had a nice phone conversation and I'm planning on going to his shop for some private instruction. The class at the Providence Woodcraft isn't really what I'm looking for.
Thanks for your reply!
