I have seen some of the archives on finishing Curly cherry, but I am wondering if some variation of the technique in the “Pop the Curl in curly Maple” article by Jeff Jewitt#135,would work on Curly Cherry also? I have some curly cherry which has very little figure so I am looking for ways to maximize the curl without changing the natural color if possible. Suggestions anyone? Jeff?
Thanks ahead,
JR

I am no finishing expert, but I recently did a piece that had some curly features that came out nicely. I used 2 coats of Danish Oil folowed by two coats of Formby's hi-gloss tung oil. I rubbed it out with wax.- Looks nice.

*Just skip all the dye steps on the maple article and apply several coats of linseed oil followed by some dark shellac. This is the finish I applied on my Kitchen table and I've never regretted it. It just gets better looking every week.JJ
*Thanks Frank and Jeff for the response.Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I have had Computer Hardwaretrouble.JR
