I normally use Waterlox as my primary finish followed by a coat of paste wax. What is the best finish to use for the interior of drawers. Will the same finish work as well or would a plain wax be better. And why. I can’t find any references in any of the online subjects.
Also, after years of only hand cutting dovetails, I’m up again some larger projects and am considering a simple routerjig for through and half blind dovetails. Any recommendations based on what’s commercially available.
Thanks
Jerry

I use shellac on the interior of my drawers, as it is quick and leaves no tell tale odor. I shellac, sand and wax before assembling the drawers, being careful to not contaminate the glue surfaces. This gives a better finish, and allows easy clean up of any glue squeeze-out. I would avoid any type of oil inside, because it will leave behind an odor, that will take a very long time to go away.
On the dovetail jig I'm of no help, like you have only cut them hand.

Shellac, or nothing, are the two most sensible finish choices (in my opinion) for drawer interiors. Oil bases finishes can contribute odor for an inordinately long time.
