I have made a small side table for our hallway out of mahoganay. the first time I have used mahogany.
This is abit pourous wood and have yet to smooth the top.
Any suggetsions for you guys?

What kind of finish are you looking for? Glass smooth, "natural", etc?
If you want it glass smooth, you'll need to apply pore filler,not regular wood filler. After sanding up through the grits, stain and finish with some kind of sealer (shellac,poly,lacquer etc.)
