Finishing molding ideas for Staircase Landing
Hi all,
Had a new staircase put in my house about 2 years ago. I gutted the entire house and I am finally at the point where I can address the finish molding on my staircase. The stair company left me with an odd predicament on my landing. I’ve been thinking about how to tackle this and I have no idea. I attached a picture of what I am dealing with. I want to figure out a way to hide that gap with some type of finishing molding. I tried to play with 5/4 board but it just doesn’t look right. I tried to google solutions for this with no luck. I was able to rip down 5/4 for the top of the staircase and I’ll use bondo to hid the gap.
Does anyone have an idea as to what I can do with this? Does someone make something that could wrap around the corner for a clean look?
Thanks
Nick

Pardon but why not patch (fill) with sheetrock and tape and float, then
paint to match the wall>?
