Thanks to F.W.W. magazine, Iv’e discovered great and many products that I never knew existed. Downunder as part of the remoteness , cabinet finishing supplies are fairly basic, – as far as oil based products are concerned.
My question, I am keen to import a small quantity – say 16 gal. max. of a quality wiping varnish into N.Z.
Pratt and Lambert 38 satin sounds a great product, now to find a supplier who may be able to help me.
Cheers

Hi Eric,
Sound advice, I have been doing a bit of chemistry on mixes, I guess I'll continue. My idea was to try out some top quality semi gloss wiping varnishes, but shipping with solvents has problems.
I restore / refinish / refurbish ( U.S. speak ? ) early 19th C furniture ( not quite antique) to what I consider a a high standard - any repairs done properly, pieces fully scraped and sanded - 'a labour of love' as you will know. My aim is to finish to original as near as possible - excepting in semi-gloss. Mostly I end up fairly happy with the finished work, but I'm always looking for ways to improve.
Recently retired after a life long on off affair with cabinet making and finishing, now I enjoy working at home and doing for others.
Thanks
Brian
