Criticism- Its not surrounded by bushels of shavings!
As long as it cuts good, do any criticisms actually matter?

Derek:
Bravo! Simply stunning. Two questions (to start):
1) can we have a picture of the iron?
2) How does it perform?
Just looking at it makes me want to grab it and take it to wood .....
I'd love to hear more details of your design and constuction of this beauty. Did you take a class? (oops, that was three)

well to answer your questions, I will try to get a picture of the Iron up sometime. And does it preform well.... Not exactly, I need to refit the iron to the sole of the plane again. It needs a little tlc. But then it should do alright. No I didn't take a class for this. I just read a little of the use of molding planes in a back issue of FWW and thought, het I could make this, and I did. Did I mention that I am only 21. I think it is (my age) something to be proud of. Not hte fact that I am only 21 but that I made a wooden plane. Most others my age are lazy uncreative folks. And by the time I am twenty-six or ther abouts I will have my very cabinet shop. And then I want to start my own school, focusing on building shaker??????? style furniture just like they used to do it. That is the plan. thanks for listen to me ramble.

ps what do you do for a living and what are your asperations. also your age
Hello? What happened to the pics? I don't see any attachments (so sad).

Here they are, f_g.
Hope that the wedding plans are coming along OK
Wow! That's a complex profile! I was expecting your basic straight-line cutter, how'd you do that?
Our not-so-scheduled civic nuptials were postponed to accomodate the vagaries of my sweetie's job, and thank Heaven for that! We and Isabel would have ended up in DC at exactly the same time! Too funny.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Hi Derek,
I'm guessing that you cut the sole with a router or a scratch stock, but forest girl's question here is probably for you.
Nice work by the way,
eddie
oooops.....forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Nae dramas f_g,
glad to hear in a way that the wedding was postponed before the arrival of the cyclone/hurricane, instead of postponing it 4 days before the event.
Trust that all goes well on the new date
eddie
