Fitting Dustcollector to DW733s
Hi all, just been given a Dw733s, I can fit the dust extractor when in thicknessing mode but I cant seem to work out how on earth to fit when in planer mode, read all the manuals and no mention of fitting, tried Dewalt here in UK but no response as it is not supported product now, looking through the forums seems like many folk have the 733s, can some one give a clue or a picture of how to fit it in planer mode please.
Thanks
Robin

At the risk of sounding stooopid (or just American), what da heck is a DW733s? I've got a DW733 (no S) and it's just a 12-1/2" benchtop planer. It only has one "mode" - planing. Mine has a dust collector accesory DW7331 that attaches with a couple of small machine screws and allows a DC fitting to be attached.
If you build it he will come.
It's just your Americanism, Doug. The machine is a combination thicknesser/surfacer, what we might call a jointer/planer and it's not available in the USA.Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Now why on earth isn't this cool looking machine offered in the US?

I think it is because we are underprivileged.
And because the majority of us are so tight we could back up to a wall and suck out a brick.------------------------------------

Just judging from the looks of it I think it is lacking a blade guard and you know how anal the US is to power tools that can hurt it's users. God forbid we use common sense. It does look kike a good machine.

Actually, there is a blade guard, it appears to be a Euro style jointer blade guard, not the big clumsy red one we're used too.
<<<Now why on earth isn't this cool looking machine offered in the US?>>>Good question........I am beginning to find there is a flock of interesting tools that are sold in Europe, but not available in the US.********************************************************
