Restaining existing cabinets
You need to clean off any dirt oils and polish and such before anything will adhere properly
Try using Tri Sodium Phosphate or TSP can be found in any super market with the cleaning products.
After cleaning when dry , stain can be added then a new top coat added to keep the stain
from rubbing off and bring back the sheen.
good luck
regards dusty
Thanks
I will try it. Like I said, I had success with the bathroom some time ago, but fear kitchen dirty is moe of a problem.
Kitchen moe dirty than the bathroom

But like I always say : Butt things in the bathroom and mouth things in the kitchen.
For that reason I brush my teeth in the kitchen. I hope this helps.

Door Repair
It sounds more like you need some touch up work rather than restaining + recoating. If you haven't thought about touch up - go to the Mohawk web site and view some of their "How to Videos" or ask away here if you can get your question posted !
