Hi,-
I was reading an article I found online the other day at Woodsmith.com They had free plans for a drill press table.
The article shows a picture of T-Track hardware (flange bolt, washer, and star knob.. these are used to clamp the fence and stop block to the Track).
I tried searching for a flange bolt at the local hardware store without any success. No one had any idea what a flange bolt was.
If you ask me the bolt in the picture looks more like a T-Bolt than a flange bolt. The head is more oval. I saw a picture of a T-bolt on the LeeValley website while searching under the heading jigs and fixtures.
What kind of bolts does one usually use for building jigs with T-Tracks? The t-track the magazine article uses if 17″ long by 3/4″ wide 3/8 in depth.
I would be able to use either a T-bolt or a T-nut in the T-track.. you don’t need both right? with a knob, T- bolt and washer I could easily mount a stop block on a custom built drill press fence.

A hardware store "flange bolt" is likely the bolt used to hold a toilet onto the drain flange. Look in the plumbing department. IIRC, these will fit in T-track. (If nobody at the store knew what a "flange bolt" was, you're going to the wrong store! This is a standard hardware term and has been for years.)

Hi Wanda ,
Try and get a hold of a Rockler catalog or perhaps online , they most likely will have exactly what you want .
good luck dusty
"Flange bolt" means different things to different people. A T-bolt as in the Lee Valley catalog will work just fine, but make sure you get matching track. The Lee Valley 1/4"-20 hardware is 1/2" wide, and while it fits their tracks just fine, it won't fit in some Kreg tracks that I have, which require 7/16"-wide hardware.

What everyone else said.
Also, my drill press will use an ordinary hex head bolt (3/8") in the track.
So, take a close look at your table, it might be easier then you think.

Relooked at your post.
If you mean the T track that you set into the wood, you can use an ordinary toilet bolt.
Most t tracks will use them (some will require a quick thinning on the bench grinder.)

hi guys,
Now that I know a little more about t-tracks, t-bolts, flange bolts and hex bolts I'm ready to put in my LeeValley order. :)
I didn't find any t-tracks at the Home Depot or Kent hardware stores last night but I did manage to find a 1/4" knob. :) Sometimes it's so much easier just ordering online from places like LeeValley or Woodcraft.
