Your video discusses flattening a waterstone on sandpaper. What type of sandpaper do you use (garnet, AL, etc)? What grit and would you use water when flattening the stone on the sandpaper. Thanks. Ken

Hi Ken.
You can use the same sandpaper on glass set up that's described in the video. I'd start with 220 grit and move up to 320. If your stone is really out of whack, go ahead and start with 150 grit. It should be wet-dry abbrasive and you should keep it lubricated to prevent the grit from getting mucked up.
Write back if you need more help with this.

Thanks Matt. I'll try flattening the stone as you suggest. I built the floor mounted stand to hold the glass (plan from Fine Woodworking). It takes a little getting used to but is worth the effort to build it.

Great Ken. Write back if you get stuck at any step of the process.
