So I am looking into re-creating this beautiful table, but I can’t quite figure out how the legs would join to the top. Is there anybody out there that can offer some advice?

To float . . .
. . . or faux-float, that is the question. I suspect that if you look at the face of the leg, there is a real joint hiding below the slightly-relieved edges, so it just looks like it's floating.
Or, it might be done with infinite-power magnets, with a coating of standoffium. ;-)
