Floating Wall Cabinet with Floating Top
Times change. Our old media cabinet had drawers for CD’s and room for a receiver, CD player, etc. We watch and listen differently in our old age so I scaled down.
Primarily walnut with walnut veneer floating panels. Drop front design with plenty of room for the smaller devices we now use.
Hung from dual French cleats the full length of the back. The under lighting amplifies the floating effect and acts as an adjustable ambient light.

Lookin good!
very nice, as is the maple cabinet on top. You should post it in the Gallery
Thank you. I should have mentioned that the tiger maple cabinet is a tip of the hat to Clark Kellogg featured in FWW. If you haven't seen his articles, check him out.
Great!
NICE!
The downlighting really does enhance the "floating" effect.
Very nice.
Question. Why do you need "ambient light" creating a noticeable band on the floor out front and calling attention to that really bright baseboard?
The ambient light fills in the shadow area under the case and enhances the “floating” effect as described in the OP. I think it works well.
The gift of being a bad photographer. It is much more subtle than it appears. I had to add additional light to get the cabinet to not look like a blob ;-) I'm always jealous of those of you who can take great pics.
Than you for sharing. It’s very well done. I too like the ambient lighting touch (calibrated for the photography).
