I read your response to the ‘Repairing Polyurethane’ which will help me. But I have a long floor scratch that is very shallow and only slighty has entered the surface of the wood. I do not want to sand down the whole floor, but would like to camoflage the scratch as much as possible. What can I do?

NGC,
If you just want to camouflage the scratch, a little color might do the trick. Something as simple as the right color shoe polish could solve the problem. There are also colored magic markers in wood shades available.
Building the scratch back up to surface level will take more time. Lightly scuff sand the valley the scratch made. This can be done with 320 paper or a grey scotch pad. Add some color ( no wax ) to match. A little stain or markers should do the trick.
You didn't say what the finish was. I would use a small artist brush and lay a coat of the appropriate finish down in the scratch. You may have to do this a couple of times. Be sure and lightly scuff with the scotch pad each time.
