I am completing a bamboo fly rod and I want to build a maple carrying case for the rod similar to a gun carrying case but with inserts to support the rod sections. I have been searching for plans for this type of case and have been unsuccessful. I would appreciate any help in identifying plans of the type described. Cheers! Wayne

In the Traditional Box Projects book there is a Simple Dovetailed Box project you could use. You'd have to change the width and depth to fit your fly rod. You could change the dovetails to box joints.
A box book may be more helpful than plans as the book will show you various corner joints, tops and how to connect, and how to line the box. You just need to change the scale of the project(s) to make your box.
