Could anyone tell me the name of a folding mitre saw stand that uses 2×10 or 2×12 for the run off table? I saw it on the internet a while back and can’t for the life of me remember the name. I’ve looked on the net but can’t find anything like the one I saw.

I don't know, but the Rigid stand is on sale at HD for $99. Heck of a stand.
$99?! When did it go on sale? I was just there a couple days ago and it was still marked $149.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
This weekend it was on sale--there was the $149 tag, then there was this little "now $99" tag located a little out of sight. I had to confirm with a HDer that it really was on sale. Breaktime has also mentioned the sale.
It's heavy, but heavy duty and with wheels. It looks like an excellent stand. My Bosch 5412 SCMS is supposed to arrive today and I can't wait to introduce it to the stand.Recommending the use of "Hide Signatures" option under "My Preferences" since 2005
I got one, I got one!!!!! Heavy? Heavy you say? Crikey, you ain't kidding! I'm a happy camper though, wanted one of these for a long time. (Well, since I got the Bosch 12" CMS, what? about 1.5 yr ago.)forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
"My Bosch 5412 SCMS is supposed to arrive today and I can't wait to introduce it to the stand." Should we have a double-wedding? ROFL!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Mine's already bolted on, so it's going nowhere. I'm just waiting for Amazon to send a replacement (due today), because last time, someone sliced open my slider box and took out the laser tracking thingy. It looked like they knew what they were doing: box sliced neatly open , flaps raised up, laser thingy gone.
At least the UPS guy noted the package was open, so Amazon had no problem with it. Only thing, instead of sending the little washer-like thing with the laser, they're sending a whole new saw! So I'll open it (assuming it comes unopened), take out the laser, and ship it back. All at Amazon's expense.
I put a Forrest chopmaster blade on the saw and gave it some test cuts. Glass smooth cut--I'm wowed.Recommending the use of "Hide Signatures" option under "My Preferences" since 2005

I just bought one of these http://www.sawhelper.com/
A bit pricey but it's super portable and rock solid
One of my better purchases
Today I scored the Trac Rac T3 workstation, Trac Vise and Trac Rac router table all for free. Probably $600+! All brand new.
Happy to put my rusty old DW miter saw stand to rest. Rest in pieces.
Free??? How'd that happen? Does the original owner know they're missing yet (grin)?Recommending the use of "Hide Signatures" option under "My Preferences" since 2005
My bosses borther is the chief designer / engineer for Trac-Rac. All our co. vehicles are fitted out with Racs and the co. has a bunch of t3 workstations. This ones for me persoanlly. I put a few posts in the ground for him in trade for the stuff. Nice to know these kind of people.
I got a sawhelper this week. I have a Bosch 3915 that I've had on the Ridgid stand, but it's too much to move even with the wheels. I'd rather carry smaller parts and put together on site. I put ad in paper to sell the ridgid, but at the price of the new one, I guess I'll have mine for a while. I might mount planer on it and use it only in shop.
"but it's too much to move even with the wheels." Ooooo, that doesn't sound good. Did I make a mistake getting this stand? I have the 12" Bosch CMS (not sliding). Don't need the stand to go in a truck or anything, just roll around the house when we're building our new deck, remodeling, etc.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I had it on stand in shop and it was great. I could fold it up and shove against wall to set up other tools. When folded up, it rolls--just like a dolly. I was just whining. I have two steps to get out of shop, then five steps to next level, then through narrow gate and up two more steps to get the thing out in the clear. Also, last year most of my jobs where second floor and not secure for leaving tools. I like the stand and even build extension for cutting base, and crown.
