   Larry, have a look at this video on creating the drawer bottom. Let me know if this solves the problem. It is not a Mac issue. Be sure to watch for the requirements for opening the component for editing.

   Fantastic, Tim

   That did it. There were a couple of things I was doing different. First, I was drawing verticle lines from each corner and tying them together with horizontal lines to establish the "path", and then I was selecting the bevel shape for editing by double clicking on it instead of right clicking on the mouse. 

   You and Dave are both Fantastic, and offer the rest of us a tremendous resource. Thank you, I very much appreciate you.

   3-D Warehouse Part 2

   It looks like if you go to the SketchUp discussion first and post a message then you can attach a .skp file.  But if you create a new post first and choose to put it into the SketchUp discussion area then you cannot.  trying...
