Friends,
Could you please tell me what woods are food safe for making cutting boards? I have identified maple, cherry, walnut, bamboo, and teak as food safe. Is purple heart also food safe and what other woods would you suggest using for making food safe cutting boards?
I have done a Google and Fine Woodworking magazine search for food safe woods for cutting boards, but mostly have only seen articles on food safe wood finishes.
Thank you, Jim

Check out https://www.wood-database.com/wood-finder/ It has a section for each wood with information about known allergies and toxicity.
